Thanks to WCLK 91.9 FM...!

Thanks so much to Aaron, Nicole, Morris, Riva, Shed, and everybody at WCLK Radio (FM 91.9). I really appreciated the opportunity to drop by last Wednesday to help kick off their Fall Membership Drive, and preview the upcoming CD, Guiro!

Don't forget, now is the time to become a member of the WCLK family. This is a great station that has served the Atlanta Jazz community for years, and they deserve your support!

Also, don't forget that FOB Edward Krugman will be serving as a guest host on October 29th as part of the Membership Drive; so if you're not at Sambuca listening to Bradford perform with Nick Longo, please call in and make a pledge during Edward's guest spot.

If you'd like to take advantage of WCLK's convenient online Membership Pledge Area, please put in the Comments section that you'd like to hear more of Bradford's music! You will also be automatically entered to win a 10-day getaway to Mexico's breathtaking Copper Canyon. You can't beat that!

A Great Cause

I just want to take a minute to thank Brother Nick Longo for including me in the Warrick Dunn Foundation benefit band this past Monday at the Westin Buckhead.

This is a great charity, and Warrick is undoubtedly one of the classiest dudes in the NFL. He and his large bodyguards were kind enough to let Nick snap this impromptu (and decidedly low-tech) pic...and to stand there for the rather lengthy period of time it took for my Olympus audio recorder to take this pic. Hey, we're nothing if not improvisational around here...!

I also enjoyed chatting with Peachtree TV Executive Director and on-air personality Jeff (you can call him "JJ") Johnson. Thanks for the kind words, Jeff, and keep up the good work! See you again soon...

Also sighted: CNN's Kyra Phillips and Atlanta Falcons veteran wide receiver Brian Finneran. Thanks also to Nick for his deft camera work...you almost got all of me in the picture!

The Benefit Crew (L-R): Bandleader Nick Longo (sax, vocals), Your Humble Narrator (keys, flute, vocals, Ableton Live), Billy Wilkie (gtr, vocals), Joe Reda (bass), Derryl Rivers (drums, vocals)

Joe Reda on Radio Sandy Springs

Our very own bass man Mr. Joe Reda was featured for a full hour today on George Price's show The Music Scene on Radio Sandy Springs. It's a very cool station, and George has a great show featuring local musicians...check it out! In addition to a live internet feed, they also broadcast with an array of low-power transmitters around Sandy Springs...conveniently getting around pesky FCC regulations. Too cool!

(You can now hear the show - including Bradford's surprise call-in - HERE.) -Hostess1

A Visit with Sam Skelton @ Carere Music

Special thanks to Sam Skelton and Carere Music for their hospitality today!

[That's Sam on the right]
