Mastering Time

Ya thought it would never happen, did ya? Yes, we are finally scheduled to master the CD next week at Glenn Schick Mastering. Glenn mastered my long-lost first CD, Jihaad, lo these many years ago, and has been honing his craft even more in the interim. I think it's safe to say he now has the most state-of-the art facility in Tha ATL—and more importantly, some well-developed ears! His mad skills have also been recognized by his peers in the form of being elected President of the Atlanta chapter of NARAS—the Recording Academy, aka "the Grammy people."

Speaking of the CD, I have to give a shout out to Rev. John Briglevich at Sonica Recording for his infinite patience, golden ears, and invaluable (by which I mean, "so valuable one cannot put a price on it," not "of no value") recording and mix advice. Thanks, J-Brig!

Also, my trip to Miami was postponed (Hope you're feeling better, Susan!), so I will be performing tomorrow (Friday 1/8) night with Nick Longo at Martinis and IMAX at Atlanta's Fernbank Museum. This is a really cool deal, and who knows when I'll be able to do it again; so come check it out! Live jazz, beverage, food, IMAX movies...a great place to bring a date, and a great place to meet one if you're single. I wouldn't lie to you.
