They call him "Dutch," but...
Mark Nettles would more appropriately be described as "artistic." Or maybe just "crazy." Or both. One thing that we know is that he likes to take pictures and shoot video. Thankfully, he brought this mania to bear this past Wednesday evening at Wild Wing Cafe, Alpharetta.
The photographic results of this digital- and film-based carnage (the subject of which is the Nick Longo group performance, which I was pleased to be a part of) can be viewed at Mark's Gallery.

Bradford with Nick Longo Group
No matter what kind of music you like, you will always be drawn into a musical experience that you won't soon forget when you see this band. Yes, they are a jazz group, but I bet you've never seen jazz like this! They will take you through a range of music that is something you have to see first hand to appreciate. It is a little known secret that these guys have played together and supported each other in different projects in the Atlanta music scene over a span of many years. Why do they keep doing what they do?...because they are so amazing at it! Anyone who has seen them will tell you that this is serious musicianship, I would say jawdropping at the least. This band delivers fantastic song arrangements of well known songs as well as originals. There are mindblowing solos on a regular basis, and multi-instrumentalist Bradford Rogers pulls double-duty on keyboard and flute. Every member of this group is simply world class. Do yourself a favor and plan a night to see the best kept secret in Atlanta, you'll be glad you did!
